When booking your wedding in Alabama or Florida you must remember the most important thing. The wedding license. Always make sure you plan ahead and obtain your wedding license or else all your hard work and preparation goes down the drain. Here is some info to help you with obtaining your wedding license in Alabama or Florida. You can also click here for more info and directions.

Alabama Residents and Non-Residents
The legal age to marry in Alabama is 18. However, if you are 16 to 17, you may obtain a license if both parents are present with valid identification and they consent in writing. You must also present a copy of your birth certificate certified by the State or County. A non-certified hospital birth record will be insufficient.

If you are 18, the only acceptable form of Identification is a copy of your birth certificate certified by the State or County. Again, a non-certified hospital birth record will be insufficient.

What you need to bring with you:
If you are 19 or older, you must bring one of the following forms of identification:

**a valid driver’s license,
**a copy of your birth certificate certified by the State or County,
**a military identification, or a certified school record.
If you have been divorced, please be prepared to tell us when. You may not apply for a license within 60 days after your divorce was granted unless you are remarrying your former spouse.A Social Security card must be presented when purchasing your marriage license.A marriage license is valid in Alabama for 30 days from the date it is issued. A premarital blood test is no longer required in Alabama and there is no required waiting period after the license is purchased.Marriage License are issued at the central office in Bay Minette, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 and 3. If you plan to arrive in the afternoon, you should be here no later that 2:30 to avoid last minute delays. The licensing process takes about 15 minutes. The prospective Bride and Groom must be present to obtain a marriage license.The fee for a Marriage License is $40.00.

Florida Residents and Non-Residents

Effective January 1, 1999, all Florida residents who apply for a marriage license will have a three-day waiting period and must read a marriage handbook available at the Clerk's office. To avoid this three-day requirement, couples must complete a pre-marital preparation course (given by a course provider registered with the Escambia County Clerk of the Circuit Court). By completing both the course and the handbook, the marriage license fee will be reduced from $93.50 to $61.00 (a savings of $32.50)

General Info
~The individual must be at least 18 years of age.
~The current fee for a Marriage License is $93.50.
~The State of Florida does not require a blood test.
~A Marriage License must be used within 60 days from the effective date.
~You will need to provide any legal document with your date of birth on it: i.e. drivers license, military ID, or passport.
~We will need to give us your social security number when you apply for your marriage license
~The license is only good in the State in Florida and you must be married in the State of Florida

Wating Period

If both the bride and the groom are not a resident of the State of Florida, then no waiting period is required and the fee for the marriage license is $93.50.If either the bride or the groom are a resident of the State of Florida, then Florida requires a three day waiting period from the date you apply for you license before you can be married and the fee is $93.50.
If both the bride and the groom have taken a premarital preparation course within one year prior to applying for their marriage license, from a provider that is registered with the Clerk of Courts, you will qualify for a reduction in the fee of $32.50, which will make the fee $61.00. The waiting period will then be waived.

The date the license is issued does count as the first day. You will need to wait two additional full days. You may then be married on the following day.For example, assuming you are eligible for the three day waiting period:If you obtain your marriage license on Monday, then you can get married on Thursday.If you obtain your marriage license on Tuesday, then you can get married on Friday.If you obtain your marriage license on Wednesday, then you can get married on Saturday.If you obtain your marriage license on Thursday, then you can get married on Sunday.If you obtain your marriage license on Friday, then you can get married on Monday.

Our History....

We found out how difficult it is to take care of every detail of a wedding when we got married several years ago. It seems like just when you think you have everything covered someone reminds you of something else. It never ends and can be very stressful and frustrating to a couple trying to prepare for what should be one of the happiest days of their lives. Its amazing what one little detail can do to a wedding, for instance in our case the groom not having the ring when the time came to exchange them during the service. Wow, that is one my husband will never live down.

We wanted to offer a wedding service to people, that could eliminate much of that stress without adding the stress of high cost. We will meet and talk to you without a deposit, we will work with you even if you plan on having less than a hundred guests. We will even talk to you on the phone for longer than 30 minutes!! We try to offer quality and reasonable prices at the same time. We will try to work with any budget to get you to the ultimate goal and that is a happy marriage. A lot of people are in this business for a profit only, and while ultimately the profit is what feeds our family, we really want to help people experience on of the best times of their life with as little stress as possible.
